Kemetic Restorative Yoga facilitates a relaxing and restorative space to address stress and reduce the reaction to tension and pressures. It is a meditative, slow and passive practice, where we hold traditional Kemetic and Hatha asanas(postures) for 2-4mins emphasizing the four point breathing method and relaxation for rejuvenation. Through geometric progression and intentional breathing, we move and circulate life force, strengthen the respiratory system, activate the circulatory, parasympathetic nervous system, thyroid and glandular system, massage internal organs and apply moderate pressure to connective tissues increasing flexibility and equanimity. The two hour workshop is a great way to gift yourself or a loved one a mini internal retreat of stretching, lengthening, deepening and releasing during this winter season.

About Lauren:

Natural Mystic Mama, Yogi, Gossian & Space Artivist, with roots from the Bay Area, Lauren “Anu” Wolley Ross is a vegan blagazine author and certified Hatha,RYT200 (Green Tree Yoga & Meditation, South LA) and Kemetic Yoga instructor KYT200(Yoga Skills, Jamaica). Residing in South Los Angeles with a background in community services and rehabilitation, she specializes in Kemetic Soul Flow and Restorative yoga.

Yoga to me is about creating balance(MAAT) that allows us to get in tune with our best selves and our breath. To enhance our breathing is to enhance our lives. There is a healing that comes when we are united in practice. As my grandmother says, “Together is a beautiful place to be.” Ase. My classes embody the idea of "soul flow" where yoga isn't just exercise-it's restorative justice. It's about finding that rhythm rather through breath or movement where your being(essence) is affirmed and your soul is enlightened.  Our practice is the reclamation  of our ancestors sacred movement and the attunement and transcendence of the god body consciousness.

In addition to teaching yoga, Lauren is the co-founder of Black Yogi Day, an annual yoga & lifestyle celebration and conference, emphasizing and honoring the african roots in yoga and healing modalities in Los Angeles; partner to the Historic Leimert Park, Baba's Vegan Cafe, and online blagazine creator of Village Visions LA. She is very passionate about creating access to holistic healing modalities in her community that strengthen our mind, body and soul.
